HOW LONG HAVE WE BEEN IN THE BUSINESS?

We have been installing iron fences and gates in the Chicago area for more than 20 years. Skyline Metal Fabrication has a wide range of clients from the city to suburbs, homeowners, condo associations and builders/contractors remodeling homes. We are licensed in City of Chicago, BBB accredited, and well reviewed on Google and Yelp platforms.

Skyline carries supplemental insurance to provide quality services for your peace of mind. Proof available upon request.

WHAT TYPE OF PROJECTS HAVE YOU COMPLETED?

Skyline custom fabricates and installs iron fencing, gates, and sliding gates. We install custom iron handrails and railings on steps, porches and balconies. We install staircases and spiral staircases, to meet personal needs and the design requests of clients. We provide welding repair and restoration services for metal stairs and decks in multi-unit buildings. Please view our services page for description and examples.

We do not install PVC, Aluminum or Chain Link.

WHAT SETS OUR PRODUCT AND SERVICE APART FROM OTHERS?

We consult with you on your project, offering ideas and solutions that meet your needs. We customize each piece of your project by hand; welding, fabricating, painting and installing. We provide railings, fences and gates using SOLID bars for all of our work. We finish the project with high quality epoxy primer and the highest quality exterior paint from Sherwin Williams^® or Benjamin Moore^®.

We do not install prefabricated, store bought fences or gates.

DO YOU REQUIRE A DEPOSIT?

Your trust, and confidence, in Skyline Metal Fabrication to complete your project is of utmost importance.

We do require a 50% deposit to confirm the schedule, purchase supplies and to begin labor for your project. The remaining balance is due when the project is complete. We remain in contact throughout the fabrication process, providing information and updates on the work progress.

WHAT PAYMENTS ARE ACCEPTED?

We accept cash, checks and Zelle for deposits/payments. We can also accept credit card payments through online/secure portal.

VISA, MasterCard, Discover and American Express can be accepted with an additional 3% service fee. Please let us know if you would like to use credit card payment services.

We will always provide a clear and itemized receipt for deposits and payments made.

WHEN DO YOU DO ESTIMATES?

We need FREE in-person estimate appointments to take measurements, discuss the project, and provide a formal quote. We prefer to meet in person and to allow access to the property. At our busiest times of the year, we will work to meet and make estimates as timely as possible.

We provide formal quotes through email, following the estimate appointment. Our formal quote is guaranteed, with no additional costs for the specifications/materials given, and valid for 6 months. Additional material requested, or change in scope of project, can change the estimate.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE FOR FABRICATION AND INSTALLATION?

Your specific project and needs will determine the length of time to complete the installation. We weld, fabricate and prime/paint in our own Chicago workshop, and deliver pieces to your property ready for us to install.

Weather is considered for our safety and the quality of finished product. All work is weather permitting. Exterior work is performed above 35 degrees, and without rain or snow in forecast.

We will do our best to keep clients informed throughout the process and expected timelines.

We give realistic start times, and other important information for projects with the official estimate.

How “Green” Are YOU?

Skyline Metal Fabrication takes the health of our environment seriously. We recycle what we can and dispose of waste responsibly. We are attentive to your property, and will clean after our work and installation process. We will always clean, remove and dispose of old debris as part of the estimate.

Brief landscaping removal or demolition is additional cost.

Are there permits required for fences in Chicago?

In the City of Chicago, there is no requirement for permits, or inspection, for fences up to 5 feet high.

Surrounding suburbs have their own permits and requirements for fences, and it is required to obtain information and appropriate permits for work to begin.

We are able to obtain permits for many Suburbs, including Wilmette, Evanston, La Grange, Cicero, Berwyn, Oak Park, Oak Lawn, Burbank and many more.

What about privacy?

Your privacy is important to Skyline Metal Fabrication. We will not disclose your personal information to other industry providers, companies, or future customers.

We do take pictures of our completed work to provide reference in the future; and may use pictures/reviews on our website and social media platforms. We will make every effort to remove any personal or identifying information from the pictures themselves.
